The Tennessee Optometric Association (TOA) represents more than 600 doctors of optometry, optometry students and paraoptometric assistants and technicians in nearly every county across the state. The association was founded in 1901 and maintains offices at 2727 Bransford Avenue, Nashville, TN 37204.

The Tennessee Optometric Association operates under the direction of its Nashville office staff, TOA officers, and TOA Board of Trustees, and within the framework of the TOA Constitution and By-Laws. The Board of Trustees meets quarterly to conduct TOA business. Matters requiring ratification of the general membership are discussed and voted upon during the meeting of the House of Delegates at the annual TOA Congress.
